Rey Bajenting is a professional roosterman, having been a handler, conditioner in his younger days, he is now a breeder.

He is also a writer. He had been a newspaperman, PR practitioner and Public Affairs Consultant. He had worked as Legislative Staff Chief in Congress, Consultant to the Governor of Cebu, and Executive Assistant at the |Office of the Executive Secretary in Malacanang.

Perubliz, Blakliz 2020 and Habagat

RB Sugbo has also developed a variant of the Blakliz which we call Perubliz. It is a blend of the Blakliz and some Peruvian blood. Indeed it improved the old Blakliz and the Midnight Grey.

Perubliz played a vital role in the development of Blakliz 2020, the new consolidated version of Blakliz, Blakliz Midnight Grey, Shuffler and Perubliz. BL2020 is dual variety—black and silver (black grey) and black/brown red.

Later, the Perubliz was also incorporated with the Habagat development program.

Habagat is a meat chicken that can fight. It is for farmers, and common Sabungeros, not for gamblers and big-timers.

Habagat is bigger in size than the native chicken. And, a much better fighter, as it is also bred to compete in the pit against the American Game. After all, here in the Philippines we can get to appreciate the value added to a meat chicken that could compete in the pit. Because cockfighting is legal here.

Here in the Philippines there is some value added to consider. That’s why RB Sugbo and MANA are working on developing a chicken that could take advantage of this fact.

Habagat also comes in battle grade. The Battle Grade habagat is blended with the Perubliz to make it fight even better. Whereas standard Habagat are big, the battle type habagat is designed to qualify in weight to the derbies.

Habagat Battle Grade can be accepted to standard derbies, and much better fighter so it can compete against the best bloodlines of today.

Habagat is a meat chicken, so even the battle grade Habagat is much more affordable than regular gamefowl. Abangan subukan natin ang Habagat sa mga stag derbies in 2021. Mura pero maipagmamalaki nating maliliit.
