Like any other game fowl, Peruvians are not all created equal. For instance there is Peruvian Bazan.

Peruvian Bazan is bred by Sr. Rafael Bazan of Lima, Peru. Back to back grand champion in 2003 and 2004 Sr. Bazan is the only person who came real close to winning permanently the Golden Rooster trophy by scoring 22 straight wins before dropping the 23rd. He was just 2 wins away from a tripeat and winning permanently the coveted trophy.

Mr. Rafael Bazan is a multi-awarded breeder of Peruvian Navajeros.

​

Mr. Bazan is a member of Peruvian Knife Fighting Rooster Breeders Association (Asociación de Criadores de Gallos de Pelea a Navaja del Peru) and Circulo Gallístico of Peru, two of the most prestigious cockfighting  institutions in Peru.  He was back-to-back champion of the Peruvian Knife Fighting Rooster Breeders Association in 2003 and 2004 and finished 4th place in 2005 and 3rd place in 2013.  He has also won honors in Circulo Gallístico and in other torneos throughout his 29 years of breeding the Navajero Peruano.

In 2015 he once again participated in Campeonato Santa Rosa de Lima wherein he placed 2nd in his bracket, missing the championship round by a hairline. In this year's (2017) Sta Rosa Championship Bazan was champion in the 3rd leg to once again qualified for the grand  battle of champions in November.

There are Peruvians, there are real Peruvians. Soon Filipinos can have the real Peruvians out of materials that came from good Peruvian breeders such as Rafael Bazan. Foundation stock of Gallos Rafael Bazan from Lima, Peru are now at RB Sugbo Gamefowl Technology.

Foundation stock will produce real Parent Stock, not F1s. Thus, Parent Stock of real Peruvians shall be available in and from the Philippines. Rafael Bazan himself is now breeding in the Philippines in partnership with RB Sugbo Gamefowl Technology.
