Yes, real Peruvian Navajeros are here in the Philippines The giant game fowl from Peru can fight well. Indeed they are great for their size and bulk. In Peru roosters are not matched by weight. Any weight can be matched against any weight so the bigger your rooster the better. It will have more chances of being under matched.

This rule has caused Peruvian breeders to balance size with fighting attributes. This also led to development of fighting traits designed to neutralize size. These traits designed to neutralize size are likewise very useful in our kind of fighting in the Philippines.

Whereas at first, Peruvians that arrived in the Philippines came from breeders who have not fought even a single genuine navajero fight. Those Peruvians didn’t necessarily possess the excellent traits of the real Peruvian. Ironically, these pseudo Peruvians began arriving here in during the Peruvian craze in mid 2010s.

The craze did not last long. It burned out as quickly as it started. Because the first Peruvians here were not the real ones. Filipinos who saw them fight were not impressed. Most of these Peruvians were bred in USA by mediocre breeders.

Now, the craze had died down. The good thing is that some real Peruvians are now here. So in silence a handful of Filipino breeders have started breeding and blending real Peruvians with their established bloodlines, without the fanfare, the bragging and the controversies that pervaded during the Peruvian craze. These are the blends that we have to watch for. These blends might contibute to revolutionizing the standards of Philippine bloodlines of the future.

There is always the challenge to produce super breeds by mixing different breeds and American Game. Some are breeding Aseel grades, others are trying with native chicken grades, whereas, some are toying with Peruvian-American blends. If you want to join the fray, be sure to get the best materials to start with. It’s not hard anymore, authentic Peruvians are now here.
