Cockfighting a continuing education

In cockfighting the more you know, the more you should know you still have a lot more to know.

The biggest problem anyone can have in the chicken game is to think one knows it all (Floyd Gurley, The Scientific Breeding of Gamefowl, 1992).

After understanding the basics do not stop learning. Cockfighting is a continuing education.

It is a truism in cockfighting, as in life, that he who thinks he already knows much actually understands less. He will be a loser. He who knows he knows less understands much. He will be a winner.

As you go along in this game you will find that answers lead to more questions. Because in the journey through the world of Sabong, there is neither absolute right nor absolute wrong.

If you will not stop seeking you will continue to find more education, more information, more knowledge. You will continue to learn more techniques, systems and methods. You will not only learn more, you will also enjoy the sport even more. You will enjoy the challenges, the victories and even the setbacks.

The way to enjoy the game is to believe in yourself, believe in your birds. But never make believe you’re the best. More than anything else, a cockfighter’s most dangerous enemy is his ego.

Thus, don’t look up to someone because he may not be always right. Nor look down on anyone for he may not be always wrong.

What will be the standards

of the fighting rooster

of the future?

The Peruvian is getting popular in the Philippines. It is a different kind of rooster. It is much bigger, much taller, much stronger, although not necessarily better than the American Game fowl.

Definitely the Peruvian game fowl will change the standards of the future. In some instances it will tremendously improve the present bloodlines. On the other hand it could also ruin many good bloodlines of today.

The Peruvian has a couple of good traits vital to winning Long Knife fights. But it also has more bad traits. Finding out which are good and which are bad is the challenge.

We think just enough Peruvian blood is good. Too much Peruvian blood is bad.

We are trying to balance it out. Check out the PERUBLIZ.
