Fighting Maneuvers: Horizontal Intercept

Fighting Maneuvers series No. 2: Horizontal Intercept.

Fighting Maneuver Series is brought to you by Liv 100; Summer Shield; and Mintoresp all organic performance enhancers for game fowl. This particular video is by Sabong Sports.

The fight in the video is a no buckle contest. In this video the wala flies first while meron stays on the ground. Then the meron casually without a target took to the air likewise on his own. Then wala executes the horizontal intercept and game is over.

Horizontal intercept is a fighting maneuver resorted to by a gamecock that has stayed on the ground while the other flies or by one that has reached the ground ahead of the other following an aerial buckle.

It is best executed split second before the opponent lands or split second after it lands. In both cases the opponent is not prepared or in the position to either strike back or evade the punch.

This is a deadly maneuver if executed by a good cutting cock like the one on the video.

Why is this deadly?

Because as we said the opponent is not in the position to counter strike or evade the attack as it is yet about to land or has just landed. In the first case the opponent has not established a foothold yet and thus cannot do any maneuver. In the second case, the opponent, having just landed, is still in the process of reestablishing fighting stance. In both instances the opponent is helpless to do anything.

Moreover its wings might still spread wide open after flapping and also in order to regain balance, therefore the sides are vulnerable.

Can this ability be enhanced?

Yes by proper hand sparring simulating the situation.

What bloodlines usually have this trait?

Some smart bloodlines like lemons and roundheads have this. A few sweaters and hatches can also execute the horizontal intercept. The best for this maneuver, however, are the fast and good cutting birds, maybe blacks, kelsos and clarets. The RB Sugbo Blakliz executes this well. Slow bloodlines like regular grey and most hatches might be too sluggish for this maneuver.

What will be the standards

of the fighting rooster

of the future?

The Peruvian is getting popular in the Philippines. It is a different kind of rooster. It is much bigger, much taller, much stronger, although not necessarily better than the American Game fowl.

Definitely the Peruvian game fowl will change the standards of the future. In some instances it will tremendously improve the present bloodlines. On the other hand it could also ruin many good bloodlines of today.

The Peruvian has a couple of good traits vital to winning Long Knife fights. But it also has more bad traits. Finding out which are good and which are bad is the challenge.

We think just enough Peruvian blood is good. Too much Peruvian blood is bad.

We are trying to balance it out. Check out the PERUBLIZ.
