The different looks of the peruv

The collage on the left are pictures of Peruvian game fowl, each one of which is a pure Peruvian, at least according to their respective owners. Note, however, how each differ from the others in looks.

At any rate, there are magnificent Peruvs. Some Peruvs fight well, strong and even fast for their size. They have a share of weaknesses too. In short some are good some are bum like any other kinds of game chickens. Their main feature is that they can fight relatively well despite their bulk and huge size.

Judging by their different looks, one can ask if there is such breed as Peruvian game fowl. Peruvians are game fowl that came from Peru. They are a mixture of French, Belgian, Spanish, Malays and bankivas but not set as strain much less as a breed. From what I’ve read I will venture on an explanation. It’s unlikely for a breeder in Peru to set a blend as strain or bloodline because Peruvian breeders hate inbreeding.

According to accounts, “rarely ever in Peru will you see any type of inbreeding taken place like often seen in America, they believe it weakens the birds and only out-breed to keep them strong.” The Peruvian game fowl have only recently been imported to the US and are only in the hands of a few breeders.

If this is accurate, what is a pure Peruvian game fowl then? Peruvian game fowl do not even look similar. The looks of the Peruvian vary from one breeder to another. Nonetheless, fanciers love the Peruvian for varying reasons. They are magnificent game fowl, if only for their sheer size.

What will be the standards

of the fighting rooster

of the future?

The Peruvian is getting popular in the Philippines. It is a different kind of rooster. It is much bigger, much taller, much stronger, although not necessarily better than the American Game fowl.

Definitely the Peruvian game fowl will change the standards of the future. In some instances it will tremendously improve the present bloodlines. On the other hand it could also ruin many good bloodlines of today.

The Peruvian has a couple of good traits vital to winning Long Knife fights. But it also has more bad traits. Finding out which are good and which are bad is the challenge.

We think just enough Peruvian blood is good. Too much Peruvian blood is bad.

We are trying to balance it out. Check out the PERUBLIZ.
